Constance Backhouse

LEGAL SCHOLAR AND HISTORIAN

Constance Backhouse is Distinguished University Professor and University Research Chair at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, where she teaches, researches and writes about legal history, human rights, critical race studies, and feminist legal issues. She co-founded the Feminist History Society dedicated to publishing books about the history of Second Wave Canadian feminism.
